When conventional methods fall short, our goal is to ensure your pet’s vitality and overall health.
We combine the best of complementary and alternative veterinary medicine with conventional care to promote health, prevent illness, and enhance performance for both companion animals and high-performing athletes. Our integrative approach includes acupuncture, veterinary chiropractic care (VMM), Chinese herbal medicine, tui-na, and food therapy, all designed to complement traditional treatments and support long-term well-being.

TCVM incorporates four core modalities to support your pet’s overall health and well-being. These therapies work together to promote balance, manage pain, and enhance recovery.
acupuncture
Stimulates the body’s natural healing abilities, reducing pain and inflammation while supporting organ function. Dr. Burkett achieved certification in Veterinary Balance Method Acupuncture (CVBMA) in 2023, at which time fewer than 300 practitioners worldwide held the certification.
End-of-Life & Palliative Care
Compassionate support for aging or terminal pets, focusing on comfort, pain management, and guidance during difficult times (certification in progress).
food therapy
Customized nutrition plans that use whole, fresh foods to address specific health concerns and promote long-term wellness, or providing a detailed review of the patient’s daily nutritional requirements to facilitate weight loss or support their athletic careers.
chinese herbal medicine
Natural remedies tailored to your pet’s unique needs, providing relief for chronic conditions and complementing other treatments.
tui-na
A form of therapeutic massage that improves energy flow, muscle function, and overall comfort, making it an excellent at-home practice for pet owners.
Chiropractic care or veterinary medical manipulation (VMM) is a complementary therapy that focuses on restoring spinal alignment to improve mobility, relieve pain, and enhance physical function. This therapy supports pets of all sizes, from companion animals to high-performance athletes.
Our practice also offers specialized services designed to address specific needs, from performance optimization to end-of-life care.
PEMF Therapy
Pulsed Electromagnetic Field therapy supports cellular repair, reduces inflammation, and accelerates healing in performance and companion animals.
saddle fit assessments (coming soon)
Proper saddle fit is essential for your horse’s comfort and long-term performance. This upcoming service will help prevent soreness, injury, and behavioral issues related to poorly fitted tack.
Tendiboots (Gait Analysis)
Using Tendiboots technology, we assess movement patterns in both horses and dogs to identify asymmetries or irregularities that may impact performance, recovery, or comfort. More information: Ekico Tendiboots
performance animal support
Targeted support for horses, cattle and dogs to improve recovery and performance. Natural therapies are tailored to your animal’s specific needs, addressing chronic conditions and complementing other treatments.
Laser Therapy & At-Home Rentals
Laser therapy is used to reduce pain, decrease inflammation, and stimulate tissue repair. We also offer at-home laser rental options for ongoing care. Learn more about the technology: Multi Radiance Laser Therapy
Thermal imaging provides a non-invasive way to detect inflammation, circulatory changes, and musculoskeletal concerns before they become visible. Learn more about this technology: WellVu Veterinary Thermal Imaging

Multiple treatments are often needed to address your pet's concerns. Acupuncture typically requires 3-6 sessions to achieve results, followed by maintenance care, while chiropractic care may also require a similar frequency. Follow-up appointments will be scheduled as needed to support your pet’s progress. Payment is due at the time of service, with various payment options available.
